Investment thesis
Three sectors are about to be re-architected around two questions the last decade left unanswered: who is on the other side, and can what they're claiming be trusted at scale. Fintech, marketplaces, and AI-native infrastructure are where those questions stop being academic. Founders solving them with technical depth and an operator's instinct for where the real edges live are the bet I'm writing cheques against.
What I bring beyond capital
Fifteen years inside the platform-integrity stack at Booking.com and earlier — building the systems that decide, at scale, what is real and what isn't. My team has been running frontier ML in production since 2023: LLM-based visual assistance, tokenised transformers, foundation models, JEPA and DINO — advancing each year, publishing research at that frontier. A working bias toward shipping in months, not quarters. A network of senior operators across fraud, payments, marketplace, and AI inside companies you have heard of.
What I'm not the right cheque for
Pre-seed without a defensible technical wedge. Companies whose advantage is being earliest to a generic LLM wrapper. Anything where the founder thinks regulation is someone else's problem. Categories I have no domain credibility in — health, climate, deep hardware, defence — and would not add real value beyond capital.
